Links

It always amazes me that so many old parts are still available for vans like these and it is useful to keep a record of suppliers. Here are a few links to people we have used for part supply. I’ll update the list as and when required:

Vintage car parts We have used these mostly for replacement lamps, mirrors etc., but also for fuel pipe and fittings.

Auto electric supplies Cable for rebuilding wiring harneses have come from here as well as sundries, terminals, switches etc.

Car builder solutions Great for switches and other electrical components as well as some unusual items.

Carburettor hospital They could do with a new website that is easier to negotiate to be honest but they have a massive range of carburettors and parts in stock and have a great knowledge of carbs.

JCR supplies Just about to try these people for parts for dynamos and starters so I’ll let you know how it goes but they appear to have a very big range of parts.

Protek in Bathgate, West Lothian have been doing most of the paintwork for us.

Classicheads supplied the electronic ignition system for the cream van. It is a neat system that can be hidden in the distributor.

And of course don’t forget about Ebay. If you know of any companies who you think deserve to be here then use the comments box at the bottom and I’ll consider it for inclusion.

    Excellent web site.

I have been restoring my Austin 101 on and off for a number of years.

Interesting to note your reference to Protek. I am hoping to be at the painting stage within the next few months and have been making enquiries recently in this regard. As I am based in the east end of Glasgow, Bathgate is not too far
    away.

I will certainly give them a call

    Regards

    Gerry
